ABSRDST – Boss Beats, a Mega Man EDM concept album

ABSRDST - Boss Beats album coverIt’s finally here, nearly a year of work culminates in the last GameChops release for the year. It’s from ABSRDST, who was a featured artist on Grimecraft’s POKÉP a few weeks back. BOSS BEATS is a full-length tribute to the Mega Man series by Capcom, a fitting end to the blue bomber’s 25th anniversary year.

ABSRDST (pronounced Absurd-est) reimagines the Mega Man soundtrack in a dazzling display of modern music production. From classic house, to retro chiptune, to futuristic bass music, ABSRDST shows his versatility as a producer while paying tribute to some of the most memorable music from Capcom’s classic series.

The tracklist includes compositions from Mega Man 2, 9, 10 and X6, originally composed by Takashi Tateishi, Manami Matsumae, Naoto Tanaka and Yu Shimoda. ABSRDST worked closely with Manami Matsumae herself on the remix of her composition. As with all GameChops albums, the songs contained within are covers and all necessary licenses have been obtained.

BOSS BEATS is now available for pre-order for $7:
