Weekly Roundup: Gerudo Valley, Megalovania, Moonsong, TWIC Spotlight

This week we have Terlia’s debut on GameChops with an electro house remix of Gerudo Valley from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time , featuring a music video by Cutman Plays & FuNipz.

If you go west, you’ll find Gerudo Valley. There’s a hideout of a gang of thieves on the other side of the valley.” — Kaepora Gaebora

Gerudo Valley is a location from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. This valley is located to the west of Hyrule Field and is divided by a large chasm, at the bottom of which lies Zora’s River, whose waters flow to Lake Hylia. ‘ (Via Zeldapedia)

Curly – Moonsong (Cave Story Remix)

Cave Story, or Doukutsu Monogatari, is a charming Japanese side-scrolling platformer game developed by Studio Pixel.  The game is available on PC, Linux, Mac,  Nintendo 3DS, DSi, and as Cave Story+ 3DS which differs from the 3DS version.

This is a feel good, deep house remix of the heartfelt theme from the game. ‘The game was and continues to be met with near-universal critical acclaim, and many consider it to be the quintessential indie game, citing its one-man development team and influence on the gaming world.’ (Via Game Story Wiki)

Cave Story remix by Dj CUTMAN

I really like this song. I was working on another project but couldn’t stop listening to this piece over and over, so I decided to slow it down, and give it some neo-soul drums and groove. What I like the most about this beat is that I doubled the sample up an octave, hooked it into a sidechain compressor to give it a sort of airy presence. You can hear it solo’d in the drop at 1:35
