It’s baaack! Monster Mania returns to the Crown Plaza in Cherry Hill, New Jersey this weekend. Monster Mania is described as “the convention by the fans, for the fans.” It’s a great opportunity to hang out with modern and classic heroes of the horror screen, shop for
one-of-a-kind collectables, cosplay and bond with other film geeks.
The guest list gets better every year. This weekend, keep an eye out for Matthew Lillard, star of pretty much all the best 90s movies: Scream, Hackers, SLC Punk 13 Ghosts and Shaggy from Scooby Doo. Professional bad asses and Tarantino cast regulars Danny Trejo and Zoe Bell (just announced!) will also be guests. The men behind the Godzilla suits, Mizuho Yoshida and Kenpachiro Satsuma will be signing autographs.
There will also be a reunion of the Candy Man cast including the Candy Man himself, Tony Todd. The unforgettable voice of the CryptKeeper, John Kassier is expected as well. And of course, the cast of The Walking Dead never miss a convention: expect Alexandria Breckenridge, Major Dodge and Sarah Wayne Callies, among others.
Between Q&As, there will be film screenings of Candyman, From Dawn to Dusk, 13 Ghosts and Rocky Horror Picture Show. A charity auction will be held on Friday and a cosplay contest on Saturday night.
One of the best things about Monster Mania is how much less expensive it is than other major conventions in the area. Day passes are $30 and a weekend pass is $60. If you can’t make it this weekend, the next Monster Mania will be held in August, so grab your tickets now.
