Trey Frey – II

Master of LSDj dance music TreyFrey released his second album this month, appropriately titled “Trey Frey II”

Emotive and energetic, this eleven track album was written and performed on a Gameboy running LSDj. With his unique instrumentation and smart programming, Trey Frey stands apart from the ever growing crowd of Gameboy performers. If you ever have a chance to catch Trey live, don’t miss out!

Follow Trey Frey on Facebook, and Soundcloud. And of course, pick up his albums on Bandcamp.

Syphus – pro.tect

pro.tect is a lovingly prepared collection of Syphus’ work from 2007 to 2011 – almost entirely unheard, outside of his live shows. Though the tracks have been mastered for more ear-friendly and mp3-friendly listening, they were all made using AHX (Amiga), HivelyTracker (Amiga), Protracker (Amiga) and FastTracker2/MilkyTracker (PC).

For the morbidly curious, here’s a breakdown of file formats, the number of audio channels used and the original module filesize:

Bagu and the Riverman: An All-Zelda Chiptune House EP

It’s a rare thing that I’m involved in something so epicly adventurous as this EP. Featuring music inspired by Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (composed by Akito Nakatsuka), this Chiptune / House / Moobah / Electro album is five tracks of solid adventuring badassery. It’s particularly monumental for me, as it’s the first collection of remixes I’ve done without samples of in-game music. Legendary chiptune tracking was done by Spamtron, using renoise and modtracker. I handled the drum sequencing and mixing. The result are epic, dancable, and, most importantly, fun! Pick up the EP (5 tracks with 2 bonus tracks) over at Bandcamp for only 5 bucks.
