I’m a big fan of hiphop, and Zelda, as it should come to no surprise for those famailar with some of my projects. Flyrule is a near-masterpiece to me. With MPC Style beat-chopping and a fresh take on the classic soundtrack, beat-maker Shag takes us to a Legend of Zelda we haven’t heard before.
This is a compilation of Zelda beats I’ve made over the past 6 months or so. This game defined my childhood. I spent countless hours surrounding myself in the game and it’s music, so it’s only natural that I pay homage to it in the best way I know how.

If you haven’t heard Electric Children it’s time to change that. Electric Children has taken Chipmusic to a new level (no gamer puns intended, seriously) with dancefloor smashing mixing and arranging skills. Utalizing two Nintendo Gameboys and LSDJ software, Electric Children creates House, Electro and Dancehall style music with incredible detail and technique. To put it simply, Electric Children rocks.

In the opening track Sleepyhead, Smiletron brings an emotive and honest compositions to life through the use of a warm chiptune lead and finely produced backing tracks. It follows with a the Sleepyhead Astro Remix, a expansive, dance version of the opening track. Smiletron does an excellent job of maintaining theme throughout the album, the acoustic piano track Somewhere Else takes us to a new space, but somehow it feels familiar. The closing track is a solo piano arrangement, that sets us down peacefully. Smiletron comes through with tight production and a warm master, Daydreams is the next level for this talented young musician.
