‘Chiptunes = #SrsBsns’ (Serious Business) features 22 brand new meme-centric tracks (yes, they’re all written about/referencing memes :3 ) from a VERY talented array of chipartists spanning the globe. The premise is ridiculous, but the execution is damn near flawless (these cats ran with the crazy concept so very hard!).  Per the usual, artwork by Foxdragon, track order by Kubbi, and mastering by videogamedj.com’s own Dj CUTMAN.

Why? Because Chiptunes = Serious Business, duh. 8-)

Cheap Dinosaurs new album Triangle TrashCheap Dinosaurs, the Philadelphia chiptune supergroup, have launched their first album in three years on Sunday via 8static. Triangle Trash is six incredible tracks by the band, incorporating programmed chiptunes alongside live guitar, drums, and synthesizers.

Cheap Dinosaurs is lead by Dino Lionetti, and features other notable philly chip artists Animal Style, Chipocrite, Bucky and An0va. The band has been performing since 2008.

Been a little while since I’ve typeity typed on this supa-delicious blog, but today I’ve a solid reason for a quick return:

To clear things up a bit, ‘MAGFest = WIN’ is a new ChipWIN compilation featuring 12 new chiptunes from 12 chipartist performers from the recent MAGFest 12! (A NUMBER WHICH WAS OBVIOUSLY CHOSEN ON PURPOSE AND DID NOT HAPPEN BY ACCIDENT AT ALL. :3 )

As always, mastering by Dj CUTMAN, artwork by Nate Horsfall, & track order by Kubbi. (aka THE FULL WORKS).

New Chiptune Album Plays on Sega CD ( NOTE! – Color Mechanica )

Note! - Color Mechanica Chiptune Album plays on Sega CDYou got to hand it to the innovative nature of chiptune musicians to continue to create new, awesome (and sometimes weird) ways to play  their music.

NOTE! from New York City has created a new chiptune album that will play back on a Sega CD console.  If you’re having trouble locating your old console, you can download Color Mechanica on Bandcamp, and the recordings sound awesome. The truly devoted can pick up the old sega console on ebay for between $50-$100 to get the true chipmusic experience.
