Square creates a 16-Bit Recap to Final Fantasy XIII

This awesome video outlines the storyline to Final Fantasy XIII, to prepare gamers for the new title in the series, Lightning Returns, coming out on February 11th. It’s got to be the single coolest promotion video I’ve ever seen, the entire game is re-done in the style of Final Fantasy VI for SNES. Check out the video:

Triple Triad: BOOSTER PACK Delayed, Grimecraft to Join GameChops Roster

Triple Triad: Booster Pack delayed The Final Fantasy follow up album to Mykah’s Triple Triad,
“Booster Pack” has been delayed.  It contains more remixes from Final Fantasy VI, VII and VIII by other GameChops artists, including edits and alternate mixes by Mykah

Originally planned for release on August 6th via Loudr.fm, the album has been pushed back to incorporate new remixes by Boston based DJ and electronic musician Grimecraft.

Those who attended PAX-East this year had the opportunity to catch a secret DJ set between Grimecraft and the mysterious Dj Dr Wily in the MAGFest JamSpace. Grimecraft’s potion of the set is embedded below.

 

While it’s never fun to hear about an exciting new album getting delayed, the folks at GameChops have been working hard this summer and have already released a tremendous amount of new music. Triple Triad is now available from GameChops

This summer my label GameChops is releasing three incredible albums for DJs and Dance Music fans alike. First is already available… Mykah’s Triple Triad, which we covered in an earlier post. 12 tracks of Final Fantasy remixes from FFVI, FFVII and FFVIII.

On July 23rd Dj-Jo’s Tales of EDM drops, a four track Tales of Symphonia EP. Dj Jo is known for aggressive sound design, powerful melodies and unrelenting energy. Dj Jo first came onboard GameChops by contributing five dubstep tracks to The Triforce of Bass, known as Skyward Step.

A followup to their breakout tribute to Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, the chiptune duo of Dj CUTMAN and Spamtron are returning with MeowMeow & BowWow, a tribute to Link’s Awakening for Nintendo Gameboy.
