World 1-2: Encore

World 1-2: EncoreWorld 1-2: Encore” is the followup to “World 1-2” that featured top-class videogame composers & arrangers, including Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill), Manami Matsumae (Mega Man), Keiji Yamagishi (Ninja Gaiden), Austin Wintory (Journey) and many more. “Encore” is one more ride with 14 remixes of some of our favorite games — from Mega Man and Zelda to Sonic and Super Hexagon and plenty others. It’s a celebration of the art & craft of video games.

Unlike the previous album “World 1-2“, this one is all remixes — so it’s easier to digest and enjoy. It retains the same nature of World 1-2: a multitude of genres and styles, mixed together in a playful way.

World 1-2 is a music project directed and produced by Mohammed Taher of Koopa Soundworks. All proceeds generated from this album will go toward funding new projects by Koopa Soundworks. We hope you enjoy this project as much as we enjoyed making it.
-Mohammed Taher

I had the honor and pleasure of producing the original World 1-2 alongside Mohammed for GameChops. Mohammed has relentless attention to detail and a skill for recruiting the very best of the game industry and vgm community. I have high hopes for Koopa Soundworks!

Ben Briggs – The Briggs Effect 2

The Briggs Effect 2

Hey everyone, Ben Briggs here! I’ve just released my latest album, “The Briggs Effect 2“, chock full of video game remixes and assorted chiptuney goodness for your earholes. Seriously, there’s a lot to go around here… Super Mario 64, Super Mario RPG, Harvest Moon 64, Golden Sun, Mega Man 2… the list goes on!
Most of these tracks were requested/earned by my fans and friends, be it from fundraiser donations or public Facebook votes, and the others are simply shining examples of my work over the years. Covering a wide range of styles, I’ve gathered these songs onto one album in order to more fully expand my discography, and to provide a convenient medium for discovering and downloading my best music. Many of these tracks have not been available for download before today, so be sure to jump on this opportunity to finally get your hands on some of my hottest new remixes!

Before I go, I’d like to add a personal note: Thank you to all my fans for their continuing love and support; without you guys I wouldn’t be anywhere near where I am now. If you’re a new listener and you like what you hear, please consider donating via PayPal or purchasing the album on Bandcamp to support me and my dream of surviving as a full-time musician.

With love,
-Ben

Triple Triad: BOOSTER PACK Delayed, Grimecraft to Join GameChops Roster

Triple Triad: Booster Pack delayed The Final Fantasy follow up album to Mykah’s Triple Triad,
“Booster Pack” has been delayed.  It contains more remixes from Final Fantasy VI, VII and VIII by other GameChops artists, including edits and alternate mixes by Mykah

Originally planned for release on August 6th via Loudr.fm, the album has been pushed back to incorporate new remixes by Boston based DJ and electronic musician Grimecraft.

Those who attended PAX-East this year had the opportunity to catch a secret DJ set between Grimecraft and the mysterious Dj Dr Wily in the MAGFest JamSpace. Grimecraft’s potion of the set is embedded below.

While it’s never fun to hear about an exciting new album getting delayed, the folks at GameChops have been working hard this summer and have already released a tremendous amount of new music. Stay tuned to this blog, or follow GameChops on Facebook and Twitter for updates. I’ll leave you with this gif from PAX-East:
