Fallout ’84

Created by long time fans of the Fallout series,  8 Bit Weapon have created an interactive art piece while waiting for the release of Fallout 4. The demo game runs as if it were released 1984 on an Apple IIc. Music and sound fx from the Apple II were added later.

Using the Outlaw Editor and a small team of Apple II coders, the group created the demo game. An impressive tribute to say the least filled with retro goodness.

Including references to the Pip-Boy and Deathclaw this is a fun project, clearly made with love. Check out the Fallout 4 trailer below.

RIP Zune

Goodbye sweet Zune, we hardly knew ye. Microsoft has decided to retire the MP3 player dud released in hopes to compete with the ipod. To replace the Zune services in place and the Xbox music pass, Microsoft will be using the Groove Music Pass, subscriptions will cost $9.99 per month or $99.90 per year.

Paul Robertson’s Pixel Simpsons Opening

Pixel artist Paul Robertson has done it again, this time with art from the beloved cartoon The Simpsons. The re-imagined opening directed and animated by Paul Robertson and Ivan Dixon with a chiptune cover of the opening theme music by Jeremy Dower has gone viral, with warm receptions from pixel and cartoon aficionados alike.  Check it out below!
