Created by long time fans of the Fallout series, 8 Bit Weapon have created an interactive art piece while waiting for the release of Fallout 4. The demo game runs as if it were released 1984 on an Apple IIc. Music and sound fx from the Apple II were added later.
Using the Outlaw Editor and a small team of Apple II coders, the group created the demo game. An impressive tribute to say the least filled with retro goodness.
Including references to the Pip-Boy and Deathclaw this is a fun project, clearly made with love. Check out the Fallout 4 trailer below.
Chiptune pioneers 8 Bit Weapon and ComputeHer have released a compliation of the best tracks from over a decade in chipmusic! This Los Angeles based duo has been instrumental in the popularizing of chiptune music in both recorded format and live performance. Working together as 8Bit Weapon, Seth & Michelle have created their unique sound and powerful use of antique hardware.
The website Urban Dictionary defines Modemoiselle as Noun: a woman or girl who spends too much time online, forgetting other important things like family and friends; an unhealthy cyber-addiction in the female species.
For chiptune artist ComputeHer, it’s the title of her new album, and here’s my favorite track, SysOp:
ComputeHer is 1/2 the groundbreaking Chiptune duo 8Bit Weapon, and it’s no surprise from the energy and driving beats behind some of the tracks in Modemoiselle. The album progresses to more light-hearted and sometimes a little creepy tunes, all crystal clear and crunchy as you could want. Buy the album on her website. I’ll leave you with my second favorite off the album, rock awesomely provided for free download on ComputeHer.com
