Con season: How To Survive a Convention
Originally written by Elly Rox and posted at Philly Geek Girl in 2014.
With summer approaching, and con season on it’s way I thought I’d share some of my tips for convention survival, this applies to massive productions like Wizard World Comic Con and indie cons alike. Heed this advice and by the end of the day you may be a little less worse for the wear.
Preparing ahead of time
Sleep is your friend, a well-rested con goer is a happy con goer. Do yourself and your companions a favor and get a decent amount of sleep the night before the con. I know you’re excited but take some melatonin or something, tired grumpy zombies are only fun when it’s a costume.

PAX East 2014 Dj CUTMAN Shows ( with Grimecraft )
Hey friends, Cutman here. I’m playing two shows at PAX East this weekend, plus I’ll be cruising around the hallways mixing beats and passing streets (better have your 3DS ;)
First show is Friday night, a party called Joyful Bewilderment, put together by BigSushi.fm and Rogue Ruckus. I’ll be playing sets with Grimecraft, Doomcloud, and Kris Keyser.
Joyful Bewilderment starts at 8PM and is at Central Wharf Co at 160 Milk Street, a 20 minute walk from the convention center. Space is limited so get your tickets now.
On Saturday Night Grimecraft and Dr. Wily square off in a rematch of last year’s epic back-to-back dj set. This goes down in the convention center 10PM at the Jam Space. (find it on your convention map or download Guidebook). This is a free show for all PAX attendees!
I’m mega-stoked to be returning to PAX East for my 4th year. I hope to see a ton of you at the shows and around the convention. I’ll be wearing my helmet, so come say hi! Keep up with my location on Twitter @VideoGameDJ and Instagram.
