SidTracker64 is an app that allows you to create chiptune music right from your Ipad. Using emulators of the SID sound chip from Commodore 64 this tracker style sequencer comes pre set with several songs included and tools to create your own.

A new challenger: Pulseboy

Pulseboy, a web-based 8-bit sequencer created by Roger Hicks is now in Beta and so far the feedback has been good. PulseBoy uses a “tracker” interface to accept note input.

If you’ve ever wanted to play around with making your own chip-tunes this is a great place to start, and Roger’s tutorial below is a user friendly introduction to composing with Pulseboy.

Too Many Chiptunes

The phenomenon of Too Many Cooks, the faux sitcom that circulated on Adult Swim is now a chiptune track.  Catchy, and somewhat infuriating, clip went viral for weeks after it’s release and Rush Coil has managed to make it an even bigger earworm.
