RushJet1 – Forgotten Music

RushJet1 is one of my favorite Chiptune artists. Recently, Ubiktune released Forgotten Music. The album combines the old, the new, and the forgotten music from RushJet1’s past into one album. Several songs have been unfinished for years and have been given a proper ending, while others are re-imaginings of older songs.

“Enjoy listening through these. I know I enjoyed writing them!” — RushJet1.

ChipTuesday: Nightstory – sylcmyk

This is one of those tracks I had to just run back over and over again when I first heard it. Actually, I’m playing it over and over right now writing this post. With the simple description of “Bedtime stories”, 8bitcollective user sylcmyk has created a very unique, fun, and lighthearted tune integrating smart production and some nostalgic samples. Have a listen below, and be sure to like and comment over on 8bc.

Smiletron Saves the World with New EP [ FORWARD ]

Smiletron - ForwardOn Saturday, May 21st, The Rapture failed to take the lives of all humans on earth. There are a number of theories on why Harold Camping’s evangelical nutjobbery was nothing more than internet hubub, but I’d like to credit the hard work and dedication of chipmusician Smiletron.

Smiletron’s new EP, Forward is a progressive 5-Track EP which takes us on a journy through an evolving soundscape through high energy chiptune music and etherial, moving moods. From a production standpoint, Smiletron has stood tall with some of the best-sounding Chipmusic available, and FORWARD is no change. The EP is offered for free through Smiletron.org.

ChipTuesday: Spaceman – Kola Kid

Remember when I used to post a new chiptune every tuesday? Well somewhere between freelancing design gigs and trying to miraculously work on music full time, I forgot what day of the week it was. For like months.

But that’s not nearly as interested as this tune, by Kola Kid. It’s a very diverse tune, elements of chiptune, break-core, with some overtones of emotive rock. I don’t know if that really makes sense, but this track is so good when I got locked out of my apartment I listened to it on my phone like ten times.
