It’s finally here. The set performed live at the tenth annual Music and Gaming Festival. This is no joke. Electro Techno Chiptune Moombah Dubstep. Charge up your lasers. Equip your stompin’ boots. Hope you’ve been level grinding because this mix is a like a supernova dinosaur from beyond the stars.

No, but seriously. This mix is celebrating the return of MAGFest, the best part of the whole goddamn year. A four day, non-stop video game and concert extravaganza, MAGFest is a place unlike any other on the planet. No website could do justice to the experience, but this one is a start. magfest.org.

Mizuki’s Last Chance – Holy Bleep

There is no one else quite like Mizuki’s Last Chance; He’s a producer from the UK who makes, in his words, “chipdubnbasslectrotoncore,” and that’s not far off. Uncompromising hard electro/dubstep style drums layered seemlessly over melodic chiptune leads and gritty electro basslines and distortion. Holy Bleep is Muzuki’s first EP, but he’s been releasing tracks on Soundcloud and 8bc for years. Back in October VideoGameDJ gave the spotlight to Mizuki.

From the Chiptune duo who brought you The Best Music comes a brand new album, Beautiful Lifestyle. These tracker-produced tunes have elements of everything beautiful, from funky synths lines to chiptune arps and sweeps, dubstep elements and pitch-shifted 90s airhorns. I know, that sounds like a lot to deal with, but George and Jonathan are pros. The duo are adept at producing exceptionally fun music. Dj CUTMAN – Dubstep Is Dead

I released a new mix today, originally crafted for a show with my buddies at Toats Orig. I spent this morning editing this nice little blurb on Soundcloud, so a little copy/paste action should let you know how I’m feeling >;]

Dubstep Is Dead is meant to be a eulogy for the classic meaning of the word Dubstep; a genre that got its start with underground garage mixes in the UK. This mix comprises of the tracks and artists that I believe have taken the genre to new places, incorporating elements of progressive house, electro, chiptune and tech. This is not to say that dubstep itself is gone from this planet forever, but rather it has risen like a Phoenix… here to destroy us all.

Released on Halloween 2011, a one year anniversary of live dubstep mixing for me. I hope you’ve enjoyed all the MIXES thus far. A big, big thank you to all the artists, blogs, and labels who’ve provided me with the music I spin, this is truly a team effort.

As a way to say thank-you, I’ve posted a complete tracklist with links to the artist’s Soundcloud pages and download locations for all of the tracks (many of them available for free).
